Pre-School

We are a small, friendly, village Pre School. The Pre School is Ofsted registered and provides a stimulating and fun environment for children aged between 2 and 5. Although most of the children come from the village, we also have many children from the surrounding area.

Staff
We have three qualified members of staff (including SENCO). Other members of staff are at different stages in the process of gaining qualifications. All members of staff are encouraged to gain additional qualifications and skills to ensure that the highest standards of professional competence are maintained.

Opening Times
Mon and Fri      8:30am - 1:00pm
Tue/Wed/Thu   8:30am - 3:00pm

Venue
All sessions are held in the large, modern, Greenacre Hall in the village where a large range of play and learning materials are available (including Out-door Play; Kitchen; Cooking; Water Play; Dressing Up Clothes; Songs and Rhymes; Reading and Story-time; Sand Play; Puzzles; Drawing; Painting; Play Dough; Cars; Dolls; Trains). The Hall is set on the edge of the village recreation ground, close to the play area and surrounding fields.
We have very close links with the village First School and we visit the school throughout the year, this is aimed at the children that will attend the following term. Other, occasional, joint activities are held with the school.

Objectives
The pre-schools objectives, in line with Ofsted standards, are to help develop childrens personal, social, creative, mathematical, problem solving, reasoning and numeracy, physical and communication skills. In addition we try to provide them with a greater knowledge and understanding of the world around them. But, most importantly of all, we aim to do all this in a friendly and fun environment.

Involvement of Parents
The pre-school is managed by a committee of parents/carers. The parents/carers of any child who attends the pre-school is automatically a member of the committee and are encouraged to become actively involved in the management of the pre-school. There are regular bulletins for parents on the activities children are currently enjoying or projects that they may be engaged in and staff are always happy to discuss the progress of children with their parents (although for practical reasons it is preferred that this be done at the end of sessions).  In addition there are regular ‘Open Days’ when parents can meet with staff and inspect the children’s work.

Fees
All children are entitled to 15 hours per week funded by Buckinghamshire County Council from the beginning of the term after their 3rd birthday. For younger children or children who use up their funded sessions elsewhere the cost is £4.00 per hour.

Non-funded hours are charged at the government set rate (currently £4.00 per hour).

Invoices will be provided at the beginning of each term and prompt payment is expected. If you are unable to pay for a full term in one payment the Treasurer may be prepared to agree an alternative payment timetable.
